Balluff’s Weld Repel™ silicone cable jacket, protection sheets, and silicone self-bonding wrap provide a new measure of protection and long life to control products when used in weld cells.
Heat and slag build up cause sensors, cables, and connectors to prematurely fail in the weld cell environment. New Weld Repel silicone tubular jacketing, area protection sheets, and silicone self-bonding wrap sheds slag and protects cabling from up to 500°F of ambient heat. Weld Repel products increase control survivability to months rather than hours or days, while decreasing the need for productivity wasting maintenance stoppages and increasing the quality of welded products and the welds themselves.

In the first example, slag has built up on the cable, its weight separating it from the connection and destroying its integrity and its IP67 rating. Contrast this with a similar installation protected with Balluff Weld Repel jacket and wrap. |

In the second example, silicone jacketing has been applied to protect the assembly from heat. However, the weight of slag build up has pulled the jacket away from the connection, leaving it open to damage from heat and slag. Weld Repel wrap would have solved this problem.
