Producing leading-edge sensor products requires exceptional accuracy and reliability. Testing and calibration take place through-out the manufacturing process to ensure top performance. | |
Emphasizing Solutions, Service, and Success Our wide product range includes transducers, precision switches, and industrial sensors. Our primary customer base in the metalworking, automotive and plastics industries has provided a stable base from which our technological innovation has branched into a broad array of applications. For example, Cincinnati Milacron, a world leader in Plastic Injection Molding Equipment, has standardized on Balluff transducers. Our sensors are used to control, regulate, automate, position, and monitor many manufacturing sequences. They can also be found in Universal Studios' King Kong and Jaws exhibits in Orlando, as well as at the Beach, a Cincinnati-area water park, where they determine the size and number of waves in the wave machine. Balluff identification systems track the molds from which contact lenses are made.
By producing such quality products and offering quick, reliable turnaround, we regularly meet customer demand and generate steady growth. Our three-part mission statement emphasizes sensor solutions, superior service, and a commitment to our customers' success. Since we manufacturer some 30,000 different products, customers often turn to our technical support team for assistance in selecting the appropriate product. As one of our many customer service policies, we provide free samples for customers to test their products on production equipment to ensure successful operation.

The quality of Balluff products is unparalleled. Our Florence manufacturing facility meets the ISO 9001 international quality standard. The broadest of three ISO 9000 standards, it covers everything from design engineering and quality control to manufacturing, training, and service. "It is our company's service that sets us apart from our competitors, "Howard says, "Anybody can sell sensors, it's the technical expertise and service that make the difference."
Howard, who succeeded John Goyer, the former president and CEO who cemented Balluff's leadership position in the North American market, says the company's mission reflects its values and its commitment to service. To meet customers' needs quickly, we fill most orders the same day and, should a customer have a question, assistance is always available. "You won't get voice mail if you call here," he says. "A live person will answer your call and your questions."
An Employee-Friendly Environment Our concept of service applies not only to our customers, but to our employees as well. In addition to great benefits and flexible schedules, Balluff's 125+ local employees enjoy a sense of ownership in the company that comes from empowerment and is rewarded with a company wide profit sharing plan. Employees are challenged to solve problems for themselves and are given the tools to execute their decisions. In addition, the company pays 100 percent of employees' tuition for continuing education. That's a fringe benefit Howard says exemplifies Balluff's overall commitment to positive thinking.
