Balluff’s Pallet Remote System for DeviceNet™ Networks provides non-contact power and signal transmission through an air gap to sensors and control devices mounted on moving pallets. This system makes it possible to drive or control small motors or solenoids on the pallet by transmitting output signals and power to them. At the same time it transmits detected signals from sensors on the pallet to the external controller.

The Remote Head on the pallet is wired to an enclosure which has ports for four multiple interface blocks (MIB’s). Each MIB can have up to eight sensor inputs directly connected to it. These input signals cross the air gap and are transmitted to the Base Head. The Base Head then sends these signals via DeviceNet™ back to the external controller.
