Fiber optic thru-beam sensors offer numerous advantages, such as the ability to burn through dirt and debris; precision sensing and small-part detection; and highly repeatable. Unfortunately, fiber optics are problematic with time consuming installation and initial alignment, misalignment when jarred, and general mechanical fragility.
Balluff’s BWL sensors are self-contained, right angle thru-beam sensors that retain all the performance advantages of a fiber optic solution but eliminate the alignment and mechanical issues.
