Check the integrity of a bottle cap in packaging application.
Objective: Inspect a bottle cap to determine the presence and the integrity of the cap liner using a Brightness tool.
Solution:The Sharpshooter was used to detect and inspect the seal inserted into a plastic cap. The application involved multiple seal types and various colors of caps, however the Brightness tool found within ConVis, which is the BVS’ programming software, made detection of the seal a simplistic task. Shown are both a good seal and then a seal that was inserted incorrectly (resulting in a failed inspection) into the cap causing the triangular void illustrated on the right.
Pass: Seal present and correctly inserted
Fail: Seal incorrectly inserted
