Sense the presence of glass on a conveyor or drive belt, regardless of position or orientation.
Objective: Increase process flexibilty by allowing for varying orientations and sizes of the glass.
Solution:
A right angle, thru-beam photoelectric sensor can be mounted to the side of a drive belt or conveyor and has many advantages over a standard thru-beam sensor. Because the sensor is self-contained, there are no alignment issues, which makes setup fast and simple, but also means no maintenance or adjustments required. The right angle nature of the light beam virtually gaurantees that the sensor will detect the presence of the glass, even if the glass is not fully centered on the drive belt/conveyor or if the glass is oriented horizontally rather than vertically. Balluff offers several rugged, fully potted right angle sensors with up to 6" between sender and receiver in visible red -
