 Build up of weld slag, abrasive dust, dirt, and grime can cause premature failure of mechanical switch plunger/rollers. Balluff BAM Protection Shields are designed to cover the top and sides of the switch housing and guard the plunger/rollers against accumulation of debris.

Continuous cleaning action
Just as the brush on the tone arm of a classic record player wipes dust out of the grooves of a record, brass brushes on the BAM Protection Shield continuously wipe the cams as the base system rotates, helping prevent debris from grinding between the plungers and the cam. Brushes can be easily replaced by removing one screw and sliding the brush out the top of the channel. See ordering information below. |

Fast preventative maintenance
A non-contact inductive BNS is the optimum solution, but requires significant changes to control wiring and components. An alternative is to upgrade to a housing with interchangeable plunger blocks, which maintain the same wiring and mounting configurations as the standard housing.
