The Sharpshooter™ Vision Sensor has seven built in functions, which can be used in different ways for varying applications.
The Brightness Tool can be used to check for imprints or differentiation of parts; the Contrast Tool can be used to detect processing status or do a completeness check; the Contour Tool can check for absence of burrs, inspect stamped parts, differentiate between part shapes, compare setpoint/actual values; the Position Tool can check label positioning, article positioning, fill level control, and part positioning; the Edge Count Tool can verify thread completeness or the number of pins on an IC; the Width Tool can check for presence (e.g. of lids), part differentiation, inventory monitoring, fill level control; and the Pattern Match Tool can detect whether letters, labels, or logos were completely printed.
1. Presence Check - Pattern Match Tool
These V-belt pulleys are attached with four nuts. Sharpshooter™ inspection can confirm the presence of all the nuts to guarantee product quality. Inspection is possible even if the nut position varies.
2. Position Detection - Width or Position Tool
A vibrating conveyor delivers screws for assembly. The system must be stopped if screws are incorrectly positioned or of a different type. Sharpshooter™ verifies screw type, positioning, and orientation.
3. Pattern Matching - Pattern Match Tool
Tins are checked for proper imprinting in a quality assurance process. Sharpshooter provides seven different functions, which can be combined differently depending on the application.
4. Packing Completeness Check - Brightness or Contrast Tool
Product completeness is checked following manual or automatic packing. Three configurable outputs allow monitoring the completeness of each row, or virtually any other aspect.
5. Package Check - Brightness, Contrast, or Position Tool
Every package needs a label – but sometimes it isn’t where it belongs or is incompletely attached. Sharpshooter can verify each label’s presence and its correct position.
6. Assembly Check - Contour or Pattern Match Tool
Injection molded or assembled parts are checked in final inspection. Sharpshooter has the ability to compensate for part misalignment, allowing for reliable inspection.
