Groundbreaking ceremony at Balluff subsidiary in Kentucky
April 2013: The sensor specialist, position measurement expert and industrial networking supplier Balluff from Neuhausen a. d. F. has started work in Florence, Kentucky on the new headquarters of its US subsidiary. Present at the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony were numerous notables, including many politicians, leading representati-ves from business as well as Florian Hermle and Michael Unger, two members of Balluff executive management from Germany. As representatives of the supervisory board, Rolf Hermle and Volker Geissel participated in the event.
The Balluff Group has invested approximately US$6 million in the new headquarters. With the expansion of its facilities, Balluff USA views itself as optimally prepared for future challenges.
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear: "We are proud to have Balluff's US headquarters in Northern Kentucky and are, of course, especially pleased to see how the company has worked successfully at this location for 30 years, continues to expand, and now adds another 24 full-time jobs in the immediate vicini-ty.“
Balluff's new US headquarters, with an area of 14,600 square meters, is scheduled for completion in March 2014 and will house final assembly, marketing and sales as well as the training site for the US market.
The innovative building design of the new headquarters com-plies with the latest environmental standards and was designed for minimal energy consumption. It was possible to keep artifi-cial light to a minimum, since all workspaces have sufficient daylight.
At present, more than 150 employees work in the subsidiary, which was founded in 1983 and expanded in 1994 and again in 2001. The company anticipates strong growth in the next five years and plans to add a total of 60 to 100 new jobs in the USA.
