Balluff Ltd to Present At PI UK Autumn Training Event

The seminars are free-to-attend and will provide an excellent introduction to the use of digital communications technologies in automated manufacturing and process industry applications, paying particular attention to the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0, addressing key issues such as safety and cyber security.

The seminars will take place at Glyndwr University, Wales on the 26th September 2017 and in Cambridge on the 11th October 2017.

The Cambridge event is sponsored by a European Interreg Project named "Industry 4.0 via Networked Control Applications and Sustainable Engineering" - aka INCASE, while the Glyndwr event is sponsored by the University and will feature a presentation from cyber security expert, Dr Cunningham.

Russell Smith, Product Marketing Manager for Industrial Networking and Connectivity at Balluff Ltd, will present at the two events.

Russell explained: "With an installed base approaching 4 million nodes IO-Link is THE protocol for communication down to the sensor and actuator level. This presentation will be covering what a typical IO-Link solution consists of, how it interfaces to the control system and the benefits that can be derived from this increased level of communication with IO-Link devices. These include: easier handling of measurement signals, remote and automatic device parameterisation, smart sensor diagnostic functions, safety over IO-Link whilst also being an enabler for Industrial IoT and Industry 4.0 strategies.
