Real-time capable systems for precision and energy efficiency
The Balluff BML magnetically encoded linear and angle measurement systems are a true alternative to optical systems in linear direct drives or torque motors. With a traverse speed of up to 10 m/s, our real-time-capable position measurement systems provide optimal position feedback, even in high-dynamic applications. Maximum energy efficiency guarantees the best control quality. The resolution of 1 µm means accuracy classes of up to ± 7 µm can be achieved. They measure without contact and are contamination-resistant. No additional protection measures required. This reduces downtimes, extends the service life of the axes and improves dynamics.
The easy-to-maintain linear drive for short strokes, high cycle frequencies and accelerations can do without a cable drag train. The magnetically encoded tape of the BML displacement sensor is attached directly to the underside of the movable slide by means of a simple installation. The sensor head attached to the base plate always reads the slide position absolutely and without contact. The measurement signal is available as soon as the system is powered up, thereby ensuring high control quality and productivity.
Gearless linear direct drives are increasingly replacing conventional systems in machine construction and automation applications. Absolute, high-precision multi-slide-capable magnetically encoded linear measuring systems for longer strokes are required for position feedback in the servo axes. Our new BML-G multi-slide-capable absolute measurement system is the ideal solution for linear direct drives. Its precise absolute signal is available over strokes of from 10 to 48000 mm. This increases its efficiency and reduces the multiplicity of parts and design costs.
