With hydraulics, new waterways are made accessiblein the hydraulic steelwork, tides and water level differences are controlled by locks and gates and road networks are expanded with tunnels and bridges. Our position measurement systems and sensors are the perfect solution for controlling machines and plants. They provide long-term stability because they are highly precise and especially durable.
When building bridges, special heavy-duty cylinders carry out horizontal feed and vertical lifting motions to move the bridge elements, which weigh several tons. The synchronous positioning with millimeter precision of bridge elements weighing several tons is undertaken by our BTL rod CD magnetostrictive linear position sensor, which is installed in the pressure range of heavy-duty and high-pressure cylinders.
Every second counts when raising and lowering movable bridges, as impact on traffic must be kept to a minimum. Our high-precision BTL magnetostrictive linear position sensors, which are integrated in the hydraulic cylinders, ensure that the bridge raises and lowers quickly. Our pressure-rated inductive sensors reliably detect the end positions of the cylinder and position the bridge element with precision.
Our BTL ProCompact HB magnetostrictive linear position sensors ensure - when used in hydraulic cylinders - that water level differences at locks are overcome efficiently and reliably and continuously monitor the position of the gates. They are distinguished by the contact-free operating principle and their durability.
The requirements for a dam go much further than just opening and closing the gate. Fish ladders must be taken into account and the fully automatic control of the water level must be ensured. Our BSI inclination sensors reliably and precisely measure the intermediate position of the gate. The sensors with metal housing and a wide temperature tolerance range are specifically designed for use outdoors.
Floating debris at the infeed end of hydroelectric power plants impairs the performance and thus the efficiency of the plant. The worst-case scenario could result in plant downtimes with high costs. Our BHS pressure-rated inductive sensors easily and reliably detect the rake cleaner end positions and therefore act as a safety and protection system for hydropower plants.
