Intelligent hydraulics with our triple-redundant BTL magnetostrictive linear position sensor compensates for all boat swaying. Even in heavy seas, people from the supply vessel can safely reach the platform or the offshore wind power plant.
Cranes are used at sea for heavy loads. For reliable operation, hydraulics and sensors attuned to the harsh seas are necessary. Our explosion-proof inductive sensors reliably detect the end position of the offshore crane. In doing so, they make work safer.
Variable pitch propellers bring critical advantages to the ship propulsion system. This is particularly worthwhile when there are frequently changing speeds, such as on ferries or cruise ships. Angle adjustment is hydraulic and is controlled by our triple-redundant BTL magnetostrictive linear position sensor.
Jet drives are used for high speeds at heavy seas or for maneuverability when traveling slowly. Hydraulic cylinders inside them move the infeed flap and nozzle to adjust to direction and speed. Our BTL magnetostrictive linear position sensors, which are fully integrated into the cylinders, reliably measure these movements, thereby ensuring maneuverability.
Balluff position measurement technology makes it possible to continuously adjust the rudder so that a ship is kept on course. Our BTL rod and BTL profile magnetostrictive linear position sensors continuously monitor the position of the rudder, which can then be readjusted if necessary.
Heavy seas present a problem for many passengers, especially when it comes to cruises. Stabilizers minimize ship movements. Depending on the position, the optimal fin angle is changed to keep the ship as vertical as possible in the water. Our BTL HB magnetostrictive linear position sensors reliably guarantee the correct adjustment of the angle.
