Inclination sensors

Precise position control for various applications

Accurate position control and the continuous tracking and monitoring of rotational movements are the number one concern in many applications. Our BSI inclination sensors measure the deviation to a horizontal or vertical axis up to 360°.

With two different measurement principles and different angular ranges, the inclination sensors from Balluff are appropriate for many industries and applications.

The most important benefits

  • Capacitive measuring principle
  • Direct inclination measurement without costly bespoke construction
  • Interfaces: 4…20 mA, 0…10 V and Modbus
  • Appropriate for use in harsh conditions with high protection class IP67
  • Measuring range up to 360°
  • Contact-free absolute measuring principle for simple integration into your system

Product families

  • Inclination sensors with one measuring axis

360° high precision – so that nothing gets out of balance

BSI inclination sensors with one measuring axis offer you measurements over a full 360°. They reliably monitor rotational movements, enabling continuous tracking. This makes these sensors perfect for optimum process control.

The monaxial machines are available with two different measuring principles. First, there is fluid-based inclination sensors, for high accuracy over the entire measurement and temperature range. Second, MEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical Systems)-based inclination sensors for applications that require more flexibility.

    Angle measurement made easy

Our biaxial BSI inclination sensors are MEMS-based (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems). They have compact chips with microelectromechanical structures that move with the inclination according to gravity. Evaluation takes place via a capacitive measuring principle.

Using just one sensor, you can monitor the position of machine components along two axis. The large number of different measurement ranges ensures optimum precision for each task.
