Optical identification via 1D and 2D barcodes is an established way of identifying components and objects and flawlessly managing systems and processes.
Our range of services in this area includes stationary barcode readers, mobile handheld readers and accessories for standard and industrial grade applications. All devices offer decoding options for the standard 1D or 2D barcodes.
With the BVS E Identification code reader from Balluff you can unambiguously identify your products. It reliably reads 1D or 2D codes aswell as stacked codes. It makes no difference whether the codes are adhered with a label, printed on, lasered or directly marked. The BVS E code reader reads all codes up to 40 times per second. Furthemore, changing orientation is not a problem; the sensor easily compensates for this.
In order to verify that only the correct products were used, BVS E code reader checks the codes for content. In addition the sensor has a "OCV" function used to verify texts and number sequences, for example to check expiry dates on products.
To identify products with certainty, a consistent code quality must be ensured throughout the process. The assessment of the code that is needed for this according to ISO-standard is additionally provided by the BVS E code reader.
BVS E Identification code readers are used in the identification of components in the process and in tracking packages and in the manufacturing control.

The SmartCamera reliably identifies objects by code. It reads 1D, 2D and stacked or directly marked codes as well as plain text (OCR - Optical Character Recognition). The results are forwarded via standardized industry interfaces to higher-level systems.
The equipment includes functions for the integrated test preparation and inspection overview and statistics. In addition, you can directly control IO-Link products. The SmartCamera Identification can be quickly integrated into the sequence with its easy, software-assisted operation. In addition, the camera has universal usability with testing plan creation.
Balluff BVS HS-P handheld code readers read all standard 1D, 2D and stacked barcodes from documents, plastic labels, circuit boards and metal parts. The readers are robust and combine maximum reading performance with great user friendliness. They offer IP65 protection and also withstand multiple drops on concrete from up to 2 m, making them reliable for use in industry, logistics and warehousing.
The wireless versions with Bluetooth provide users with maximum freedom of movement. This is because in an environment of up to 100 m around the base station, safe data transmission is possible.
The handheld code readers have many different applications: Among other things: in the control of replenishment process (Kanban systems), manufacturing control, optical tool identification, component tracking, quality control and inventory control (control by Kanban systems).
Balluff BVS HS-Q handheld code readers read all standard 1D, 2D and stacked barcodes, as well as postal codes in every rotary position (up to 40° tilt) and whilst moving. Reading under more difficult conditions – such as displays and a slightly reflective background – provides zero difficulties for them. They are ideal for reading codes on documents or code labels and offer good read performance at an economical price. Their maximum read range is 40 cm.
The reader can be operated directly: Simply aim it at the code and trigger the reader. As soon as the code has been successfully captured, this is indicated by an acoustic signal, a green LED on the reader and an LED spot which is projected onto the read code. The ergonomic shape and maximum 200 g weight eliminate fatigue and are easy on the user's hands.
