    In foundries, forges and welding areas the sensors of systems and machines are frequently subjected to metal splatter and flying sparks. This splattering can cause heat damage on impact. Or they can stick to the sensors and cables and impair their functionality.

    For applications that do not permit the use of protective devices, we offer weld-resistant sensors and cables with special coatings.     Reliable results despite aggressive and abrasive media

    Coolants and lubricants used in machining are generally very aggressive. Material that was installed in a chip area must therefore withstand a wide range of chemical and mechanical stress. The same applies to cleaning processes with CO2: Dirt and incrustations are removed using compressed air jets with dry ice. The low temperatures of –78.9 °C and the abrasion from the compressed air jet can damage the sensors used here.

    Balluff Sensors and accessories have been specifically developed to meet the demands of such applications and also offer protection class IP67 and IP69K important for high-pressure cleaners.
