Therefore maximum flexibility and peak reliability are required for the technology used in the continuous casting line. Balluff sensors and systems provide security and guarantee a continuous process for a wide variety of product formats.
The casting ladle movement requires peak reliability. Reliability is also indispensable for the continuous casting process. Here, multiple redundant BTL7 magnetostrictive linear position sensors deliver convincing performance. Up to three fully independent position measurement systems in the same housing guarantee the safe operation of your continuous casting line.
Our BOS optoelectronic sensors ensure that the position is reliably and accurately sensed for the gate at the dummy bar. They thereby support you, among other things, in controlling the beginning of the process.
The Balluff Rapid Replacement Module allows you to quickly and easily replace BTL magnetostrictive linear position sensors in hydraulic cylinders. This entails replacing the entire sensor unit with the integrated measurement section. As a result, the hydraulic circuit stays closed, which minimizes the risk of a leak and prevents dirt from getting into the hydraulics system.
Our optoelectronic distance sensors deliver convincing performance - particularly at the cooling section. They check for the correct length of the cut slabs or billets with precision.
Precise position checking and the continuous adjustment of rotational movements are extremely important on the walking beam. Our BSI inclination sensors are ideally suited for these exact tasks. With contact-free angle measurement, they guarantee maximum precision when the slabs are being transported. The sensors measure the deviation from the horizontal on an axis of up to 360°.
