Ideal for work in process(WIP) applications, the BIS M system is built to withstand the rigors of the manufacturing world. With tags built to survive temperatures up to 220C and systems capable of processing massive amounts of data quickly, chances are good that the M system will exceed most requirements for data collection needs.

    Data carriers accompany the workpieces through the entire production process. In this context, they are in part exposed to extreme conditions from high temperatures, metal enclosure, and environmental other influences. Our HF data carriers withstand the high demands of such environments. Balluff's broad portfolio means you will always find the right product to fit any application or conditions.

    Data carrier communication partners

    Application-specific HF read/write heads and antennas from Balluff are simple to integrate into your system. They support the global standard ISO 15693 and in part ISO 14443A. Their industrial grade design and rugged housing with IP67 protection class make them suitable for use in harsh environments. Their range depends on the combination of read/write head and data carrier that is used.

    HF read/write heads with IO-Link interface are now available. For applications where – with little data – production progress, batch number, or quality data must be economically logged.

    Everything in one housing

    HF read/write heads with integrated processor units are the mediators between the data carrier and the PC or controller. Additional processors are eliminated because the antenna, electronics, and interface are all located within the housing.

    Easy integration saves reduces installation expenses. Variants with separated electronics are also suitable for tight installation conditions, providing leeway during the installation.

    Comfortably record data using a handheld

    Our portable HF read/write units are designed for BIS M data carriers. They are outstandingly suited for use in the manual quality testing or for the documentation of the maintenance procedure. The data is transmitted via WLAN, Bluetooth or cable-connected USB port.

    The handheld devices are modularly expandable with 1D or 2D barcode readers. The data is securely recorded, even in poor lighting conditions and harsh environments.

    Reliable data exchange with the controller

    With our BIS V processor unit, you can simultaneously use up to four read/write heads per processor. The BIS V allows mixed operation of all frequencies (BIS M, BIS L, BIS C, BIS U). This means that only one type of processor unit needs to be stocked, greatly simplifying inventory management. For use in any industrial sector, the processor unit is available with all globally standard bus systems.

    Gateways for subnet 16 bus topologies

    Balluff HF communication modules/gateways (13.56 MHz) are used for point-to-point connection or as a bus interface. They are integrated via the into your system directly via the serial interface of a host computer (RS232) or on a bus interface.

    The RS485 interface allows you to construct a subnet with up to 16 nodes. We also offer the suitable read/write heads (HF) for this subnet 16 TM bus topology. Our BIS M-410, BIS M-411 and BIS M-620 feature an integrated processor unit, as well as the corresponding subnet 16 RS485 interfaces.
