Balluff demonstrates entrepreneurial responsibility and is already in its fourth generation. The family company promotes technical education and training, sustainable measures for the environment and climate, transparent corporate leadership in addition to supporting non-profit organisations. This commitment will once again be seen during the VDMA Action Week as part of the "We're doing something" initiative.
In the Action Week from 19th to 23rd September 2016, Balluff will welcome the engineers of tomorrow as part of the TECHNOlino programme: Pre-school children from local kindergartens will get to know the company and carry out experiments relating to electricity under the instruction of apprentices.
"As a family-run company, our commitment to technical education and training is particularly important to us," explains Katrin Stegmaier-Hermle, Managing Director at Balluff. "As far as a sustainable corporate strategy is concerned, it is never too early to start recruiting the next generation."
Balluff has taken part in the TECHNOlino programme since 2008 and maintains long-term training and education partnerships with a number of kindergartens and schools in the region. Through visits to the company premises, on-site presentations by Balluff apprentices and support in the form of teaching materials, the children develop an interest in science and technical studies and are inspired by the world of technology and automation.
Balluff also takes responsibility in other areas. For example, the company subsidises measures promoting the health of its employees and holds health days. In terms of its innovative strength and technology leadership, Balluff uses renewable energies and reduces its consumption of resources using innovative products and annual environmental targets. This includes the promotion of company vehicles with low CO2 emissions.
