In the paintshop perfection and precision are the goal – even more so than at other stations, because the paint is responsible for the overall outer impression of the vehicle. At the same time it serves to protect and hold the value of the vehicle.
This makes it all the more important that you ensure, all the various process steps are performed smoothly and with the highest quality. Our solutions make this happen, because our sensors are highly resistant to temperatures and chemicals, so that your robots can apply the five layers perfectly with the help of the high-speed electrostatic rotary bell sprayers – right after the body shell has been cleaned and degreased in the dipping process.
Equip the paint line with reliable Balluff RFID and gain the ability to track all your work steps. All the information is automatically read and stored, and the skids are automatically guided through production. You will use data carriers rated to +220 °C with IP68/69K protection. If you combine these with antennas having a read/write range of 300 to 400 mm, the result is a perfect solution for the paintshop.
Use photoelectric distance sensors and ensure that the bodywork properly receives its initial corrosion protection. Before the bodywork enters the immersion bath, the sensors check whether the doors, trunk and hood are slightly opened. They can detect the gap size with high precision. The result is reduced scrap and increased vehicle quality.
Balluff offers capacitive immersion sensors that reliably detect even high- conductive media used for cathodic e-coating. They also reliably mask out foam, liquid films and contamination of any kind to provide true results.
Another advantage is the flexible use of these sensors, because our capacitive sensors can be installed in plastic and metal tanks.
Use the Vision Sensor BVS-E Universal to check difficult seams to verify that the sealer covers the entire length of the joint. And use its extraordinary flexibility for additional demanding quality checks: for contour, grey scale or width inspection.
An LED ring light also provides shadow-free illumination and great brightness. This makes your inspection even more reliable.
Use our inductive sensors to ensure reliable and precise transfer of the bodywork. They reliably and precisely detect the position of the modular skid conveying systems during the entire paint process – and stand out with their generous switching distance.
The sensors with compact form factors can also be installed simply and flexibly – whether on roller conveyors, chain and belt conveyors, or tilting tables, rotary indexing tables or eccentric lifting tables.
