Manufacturing Leader Invests in People, Products and Progress
Balluff's US headquarters became a training ground last week for distributors. The manufacturing leader held the two-day Pacesetter Conference which brought together Balluff partner distributors, technical specialists and members of the Balluff application teams to learn about and discuss the potential of Industry 4.0, the industrial internet of things (IIoT) and smart manufacturing.
“Attending the Balluff Pacesetter Conference was a great opportunity to be amongst peers in the Balluff channel and learn of others’ successes. We as attendees had the opportunity to learn of the latest Balluff innovations as well as new ways to incorporate Balluff’s product portfolio to assist the transition into Industry 4.0. It was a pleasure to be part of such an exciting and innovative event,” said Joshua Neal, automation unit manager with Southern Fluid Power Automation.
Neal was among the 34 distributor-certified specialists who attended the event. The attendees represented 24 companies that Balluff is proud to call partners. Approximately 30 additional members of the Balluff team attended the conference which was provided free, including all meals and hotel stay, to all attendees.
Session topics included:
• Why Balluff IO-Link
• Balluff IO-Link Master Parameter Server Applications
• IIoT with IO-Link
• Raspberry Pi Integration with IO-Link Master and SmartLight
• UHF RFID: Demystifying UHF Physics for More Successful Applications
"The technology experiences with Node red, Raspberry Pi and Demystifying UHF RFID were a highlight of the event for many. These sessions were repeated due to request and drove side conversations for the remainder of the event. While neither node-RED nor Raspberry Pi's are Balluff products, our sharing of trends that support our IIoT vison were seen as a useful tool for our partners," said Balluff Channel Sales Director, Clayton Webber. "Sharing knowledge with such a diverse group and learning together benefits us all."
