China and many other countries are fighting against the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19). The measures to control the coronavirus, particularly in China, have economic effects and affect all companies operating in China.
Based on the information available to us, we currently estimate these effects to be small. In order to maintain our ability to deliver in the best possible way and in the expected Balluff quality, a task force set up for this purpose in the Supply Chain division constantly monitors and evaluates the overall situation.
Deliveries from the Global Distribution Center (GDC) in Hong Kong to the Local Distribution Centers (LDC) worldwide are currently ensured. Our sales office in Shanghai and our plant in Chengdu resumed operations on February 11. In this regard, we regularly exchange information with our colleagues on site about the current status of production and capacities.
However, should production restrictions occur at Balluff due to the coronavirus and result in delayed delivery, Balluff will regard the disease outbreak, which has been classified by the WHO as an international health emergency, as a case of force majeure.
We constantly monitor the supply of materials and examine alternatives, for example by relocating production between our manufacturing locations.
Should delivery delays become apparent, we will of course contact you as soon as possible and inform you about the current status of your order. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your sales contact person.
Even if the concrete effects on our business are currently manageable and controllable, the outbreak of this virus brings a difficult situation for the people affected – we feel with them and our Chinese colleagues.
