They measure fill levels, heights and sag without making contact as well as count and monitor the presence of objects. Universally applicable, they work independently of color and surface texture. Unaffected by transparent objects with strong reflections. Fog, dust and impurities are also not a problem for them.
Their high resolution and small blind spots guarantee the highest precision. And with a large detection area, even larger object distances are no impediment for them.
Ultrasound sensors from Balluff differ in their output signals. By means of a switching version and an analog version, they are able to both reliably detect and count objects as well as determine distances with extreme precision. This guarantees versatile application.
A further benefit: Our ultrasonic sensors have different output functions and can be used as NC or NO contacts.

For challenging measurement tasks, the small ultrasonic sensors can be upgraded with a focusing attachment. This allows measurements to be performed in bore holes with openings of 5mm or greater.
A short delay time and high switching frequency of 125 Hz for fast applications. For simultaneous operation, up to ten sensors can be synchronized making them a great solution for small assembly areas.
Our new BUS Q62K Ultrasonic sensors have a compact PBT plastic housing with a surface of 62 × 62 mm. They meet all UL requirements and standards for the US and Canada. IO-Link variations are available.
Balluff small housing Ultrasonic sensors work with high resolution for the highest precision. Their many variations with discrete output, current or voltage output makes them ideal for many applications. The sensors have the same shape as many optical sensors and therefore offer a good alternative for critical applications.
For especially demanding measurement tasks, the small housing sensors can be equipped with a focusing attachment. This allows measurements in applications with holes and openings with diameters greater than 5 mm.
Theses sensors are especially appropriate for registering quick processes because of its short response delay and high switching frequency of 250 Hz.
Balluff M12 Ultrasonic sensors with switching output have a housing length of only 55 mm, our analog sensors measure just 60 mm length. Thanks to a new temperature compensation, our sensors reach their best working point 45 seconds after switching on the operating voltage. Influences from intrinsic heating and installation conditions are quickly compensated providing exact measurement results shortly after switching on the operating voltage as also in operation.
The M18 Ultrasonic sensors from Balluff are extremely compact – with only a 41- mm housing length. Using a narrow sound beam, a blind zone of only 25 mm, angle head variations and three different output stages, they offer your flexible application possibilities.
The most important benefit of the sensors is the comprehensive support of the IO-Link interface. The sensors can communicate with an IO-Link enabled control or an IO-Link master via the switching output. In addition, the sensors can be synchronized with each other so that they do not interfere with one another.
Balluff Ultrasonic sensors with metal or stainless steel housings includes five variations and covers the most diverse applications with one measurement range from 30 cm to 8 m. All variations are optionally available with one or two switching outputs, one current and voltage analog output or as a combination with switching and analog output. This allows you to solve almost every application with our sensors. The Ultrasonic sensors can be used in multiplex mode or be automatically synchronized so that they do not interfere with one another.
Pressure resistant up to 6 bar Ultrasonic sensors BUS M30E2 provide contact-free level measurement in tanks and containers with positive pressure up to 6 bar. The combination of switching and analog outputs enables level measurement and overflow protection. A PTFE membrane protects the sensor from aggressive liquids. The pressure-tight installation in a tank uses a 1" threaded flange. Special software filters enable use in tanks that are filled from above or have an agitator.
