RFID data bolt

Enable flexible manufacturing, track the rework process and effectively handle product recalls

RFID technology provides ultimate visibility into the production process. Basically, an RFID tag placed either on the part or the pallet is read and written to at each phase of the process. That data is then available to be analyzed immediately or can be archived and retrieved for later use.

Three types of data written to the tag:

  • Build Data: When manufacturing multiple items on one line
  • Process Data: When managing statistical data like pass/fail at each station
  • Lineage Data: When there is a need to identify when and where the part originated

Return on investment when implementing an RFID system on the production line is established by:

  • Enabling flexible manufacturing
  • Tracking the re-work process
  • Effectively handling product recalls
  • Maintaining regulatory compliance
