BVS SmartCamera Training

This course is designed to introduce participants to the basic functionality, capabilities, operating principles, and benefits of the BVS SmartCamera and the Cockpit software. Participants will learn fundamentals of machine vision, lenses, lighting and receive hands-on experience using the SmartCamera tools, Cockpit suite, and accessories.

Course structure

The BVS SmartCamera course takes a hands-on approach to learning. Each participant has his own vision station including a BVS Smart Camera, various size lenses, several types of lighting and filtering and all the necessary media and power supplies.

• Getting an image

• Fundamentals of lighting

• Infrared lighting technology and techniques

• Laser types and techniques

• External camera filters

• BVS internal camera filters

• Find object (position compensation)

• Brightness tool

• Check object

• Measure object (distances, angles and radius)

• BVS Blob tool

• 1D and 2D bar codes

• Read text (OCR)

• Expressions and outputs

• Import, save and select images

• PLC interface – send and receive data

• Review of BVS color camera and SmartVision controller (GigE & USB3)

Anyone who would like to learn about the Balluff SmartCamera operation, features, and applications.
