What must be taken into account when installing, commissioning and operating a BML?

The most common error occurs when the BML S1F is installed in the middle, although the data sheet specifies that the BML preferred edge should be flush with the edge of the scale. This error is difficult to localize as the sensor continues to work and the error is detected as a linearity deviation.
If the BML S1F with reference point is used, the side of the measuring element specified in the data sheet must be flush with the preferred side of the evaluation electronics. If the measuring element is rotated by 180°, the sensor behaves in the same way as with centered positioning. However, the error is easy to localize due to the occurrence of multiple reference points or missing reference points.
