The new BVS 3D-RV1 3D camera features fast implementation, high application flexibility and a robust housing. With its 12 MPixel sensors, it achieves a detection accuracy that is particularly required for handling small and complex parts in a larger field of view.

This makes the camera suitable for demanding pick-and-place applications in industrial automation and logistics, for example. An integrated pattern projector optimizes the capture of difficult parts or scenes that have low visual texture. The included software library ensures compatibility with GigE Vision and GenICam standards, allowing flexible integration with custom applications and third-party 3D software.

Reliable detection of small parts in automation and logistics

Designed especially for the detection and handling of small parts even in large detection areas with recommended working distances up to 4 m, the stereo BVS 3D-RV1 camera is equipped with modern 12 MPixel global shutter CMOS sensors. Coordinated, detailed point clouds as well as image depth, confidence and error detection provide the basis for complex automation tasks. The image data for depth calculation is transmitted in two parallel GigE interfaces, achieving repetition rates of up to 9 Hz, depending on the resolution and the processing power of the external GPU. The camera operates according to the GigE-Vision standard and offers a GenICam-compatible software interface. This provides a high degree of flexibility for users, who can create their own applications using both the included SGM Producer library and compatible third-party software such as Halcon or OpenCV.

With its robust IP54 design and passive cooling, the camera is optimized for industrial environmental conditions. Should the objects to be captured or the work environment have little to no texture, the integrated pattern projector provides an increase in information density and improvement in stereo matching. In addition, the adjustable lenses on cameras and the integrated projector lead to optimal results, no matter in which working area the camera is used.
