If you are configuring the PLC for the first time, assign an IP address to the device. To do this:
-
Double-click on the Ethernet Network in the configuration interface.
-
Enter the desired IP address for the PLC.

Under the Ethernet Network, click the green plus button. In the pop-up window, select Industrial Ethernet Manager to proceed with configuring the network settings.

Double-click on the Industrial Ethernet Manager. In the pop-up window, under Preferred Protocol, select Modbus TCP as the communication protocol.

Under the Industrial Ethernet Manager, click the green plus button. In the pop-up window, select Generic Modbus TCP Slave and then click Add Device to add the Modbus TCP slave to the network configuration.

Double-click the Generic Modbus TCP Slave module. In the configuration window, set the IP address to match the IP address of your IO-Link Master.

While under the Generic Modbus TCP Slave module, click on Modbus TCP Channel Configuration. Enter the required information as shown below to display inputs directly from the IO-Link Master to the PLC.

Repeat the same process as in the previous step, but this time configure the Modbus TCP Channel to control outputs on the IO-Link Master from the PLC.
