Product-based training

Training is truly an investment in people. But not all training is equal: some training results in knowledge that does not directly translate into better performance on the job. Balluff’s courses start with learning objectives: what the students should be able to do at the end of the lesson. We measure these objectives with exercises and labs throughout the course. This “hands-on” approach means students leave better equipped to do their jobs.

In addition we recognize that not all roles and job requirements are the same: an engineer might not need to have the same skills as a maintenance technician or an integrator. Using a tiered approach we design each class to target a specific audience guaranteeing you will receive training applicable to your specific role.

Courses

Basic programming techniques of Mitsubishi PLC

Purpose of the course

This course is designed to prepare the participant in Mitsubishi PLC programming with Software Step 7.

Prerequisites to the course

It is assumed that the participant has basic knowledge of sensing technologies and that they must also have a basic understanding of how to navigate in the Win-dows® environment of a personal computer.

Structure of the course

The course uses a practical approach. Each pair of participants will share a personal computer with the programming software Step 7, it will also share a working station with a Mitsubishi PLC, sensors, pneumatic elements, all the necessary means and power supplies, for the development of abilities.


CC Link industrial networks and their IO-Link connectivity

Purpose of the course

This course is designed to show the participant how to register, configure and launch IO Link devices within the CC Link industrial network environment.

Prerequisites for the course

It is assumed that the participant has basic PCL programming knowledge and should also have a basic understanding of how to navigate the Windows® environment on a personal computer.

Structure of the course

The course uses a practical approach. Each pair of participants will share a personal computer with the GX Works programming software, they will also share a workstation with a Mitsubishi PLC, a CC Link Master Module and IO Link slaves, and all media and power supplies needed for skill development.


Devicenet industrial networks and their IO-Link connectivity

Purpose of the Course

This course is designed to show the participant how to register, configure and launch IO Link devices within the Devicenet industrial network environment.

Prerequistes for the course

It is assumed that the participant has basic PCL programming knowledge and should also have a basic understanding of how to navigate the Windows® environment on a personal computer.

Structure of the course

The course uses a practical approach. Each pair of participants will share a personal computer with the Studio 5000 programming software, they will also share a workstation with a L24ER PLC, a Devicenet Scanner, a Devicenet Master Module and IO Link slaves, and all media and power supplies needed for skill development.


Ethernet IP industrial networks and their IO-Link connectivity

Purpose of the Course

This course is designed to show the participant how to register, configure and launch IO Link devices within the Ethernet IP industrial network environment.

Prerequistes for the course

It is assumed that the participant has basic PCL programming knowledge and should also have a basic understanding of how to navigate the Windows® environment on a personal computer.

Structure of the course

The course uses a practical approach. Each pair of participants will share a personal computer with the Studio 5000 programming software, they will also share a workstation with a L24ER PLC, an Ethernet IP Master Module and IO Link slaves, and all media and power supplies needed for skill development.


Profibus industrial networks and their IO-Link connectivity

Purpose of the Course

This course is designed to show the participant how to register, configure and launch IO Link devices within the Profibus industrial network environment.

Prerequistes for the course

It is assumed that the participant has basic PCL programming knowledge and should also have a basic understanding of how to navigate the Windows® environment on a personal computer.

Structure of the course

The course uses a practical approach. Each pair of participants will share a personal computer with the Step 7 programming software, they will also share a workstation with a s7 - 300 PLC, a Profibus Scanner, a Devicenet Master Module and IO Link slaves, and all media and power supplies needed for skill development.


Basic Allen Bradley L24ER PLC programming techniques

Purpose of the course

This course is designed to prepare the participant for Allen Bradley mid-high-range PLC programming with Studio 5000 Software.

Prerequisites for the course

It is assumed that the participant has basic sensing technology knowledge and should also have a basic understanding of how to navigate the Windows® environment on a personal computer.

Structure of the course

The course uses a practical approach. Each pair of participants will share a personal computer with the Studio 5000 programming software; they will also share a workstation with a L24ER PLC, sensors, pneumatic elements, and all media and power supplies needed for skill development.


Basic Siemens S7-300 PLC programming techniques

Purpose of the course

This course is designed to prepare the participant for Siemens mid-high-range PLC programming with Step 7 software.

Prerequisites for the course

It is assumed that the participant has basic sensing technology knowledge and should also have a basic understanding of how to navigate the Windows® environment on a personal computer.

Structure of the course

The course uses a practical approach. Each pair of participants will share a personal computer with the Step 7 programming software; they will also share a workstation with a S7-300 PLC, sensors, pneumatic elements, and all media and power supplies needed for skill development.


Sensing technologies

Purpose of the course

The sensing technologies course will allow the participant to use the right sensor for a determined application in an automated control system.

Prerequisites for the course

It is assumed that the participant has basic electrical and/or electronic knowledge.

Structure of the course

The sensing technologies course uses a practical approach. Each pair of participants will share a demo kit with various types of sensors. This demo kit will be used with practical exercises. The kit includes inductive, capacitive, ultrasonic, photoelectric (three types), magnetic and passive connectivity sensors, and the power supplies needed for skill development.
