Label Detection

PRIMARY PACKAGING

In high‑speed labeling machines, reliable detection of printed contrast marks is essential for accurate label positioning in primary packaging processes. Variations in label design, color, material or machine speed can easily result in missed marks, incorrect label placement and increased scrap.

A contrast sensor continuously monitors the moving label web and reliably detects the contrast difference between the mark and its background. The resulting fast and stable signal triggers label dispensing, cutting or wrapping at exactly the right moment. This ensures consistent labeling accuracy, faster format changes, stable operation at high speed, reduced downtime, and improved OEE in packaging machines.
