Monitoring blood levels in heart lung machines
In the blood reservoir of the heart-lung machine, the so-called oxygenator, the blood level is monitored in two stages. For this purpose, a capacitive sensor from Balluff is firmly attached to the reservoir at a freely selectable height using adhesive film. This checks the level without contact through the reservoir wall. Based on the measurement, the attending physician can precisely set the desired level.
The features
- Blood and other liquids can be detected in a contactless and sterile manner
- Smart level technology compensates for adhesions and blood foam
- Adhesive tape allows for multiple and varied uses
