3D Vision
Easy and flexible to use
Knowledge of the third dimension makes all the difference in industry for a wide variety of applications. In robotics, for example, machine production and manufacturing assistants can interpret their environment spatially using three-dimensional image processing and thus move in space in the first place. In logistics, processes such as pick & place, package inspection, de/palletizing and the loading and unloading of trucks can be automated.

3D Vision Sensors and Industrial Stereo Cameras
Vision sensors are machine vision components that are optimized for a specific task. To do this, the sensor captures images and evaluates them directly in the device using specific algorithms. The reaction to the result is also triggered by the sensor. The advantage of a vision sensor is its ease of installation and setup.
An even more flexible solution than the 3D Vision Sensor is the 3D stereo camera, because it can be used for more than one specific task after being programmed for it. For image processing, it is connected to a computer that has the appropriate software. This makes the application a bit more complex compared to a sensor, but it can be optimally adapted to specific applications.
Which of the solutions is more suitable ultimately always depends on the specific application and the needs of the user.
Smart 3D cameras
Thanks to our smart 3D cameras, you are spared the decision between a 3D vision sensor and a 3D stereo camera: They have an integrated processor and can also be used as a 3D stereo sensor with optional on-board software modules, so that the connection to an external computer is not necessary.
For specific applications, the 3D camera can also be connected directly to a PV, thanks to the integrated GigE Vision interface. This allows camera data to be processed flexibly and custom 3D applications to be created, making the cameras suitable for numerous applications.
Software modules for specific applications
In addition to our flexible 3D cameras, we also offer software modules to optimize the use of the cameras for specific application scenarios.
Equipped with a comprehensive software package, the smart 3D camera family offers the possibility of onboard data processing. With optional modules, the included tools can be further expanded, e.g. for object recognition, indoor navigation and reach planning. Our experts will be happy to advise you on the selection of the appropriate software module. Alternatively, the GigE Vision interface can be used for customer-specific software applications.
