Transparent Object Detection

PRIMARY PACKAGING

Reliable detection of transparent packaging materials at high speed is one of the most demanding tasks in modern packaging lines. Glass bottles, PET containers and thin films are difficult to detect consistently with conventional optical sensors, especially as conveyor speeds increase.

By combining ultrasonic and radar sensing technologies, transparent object detection becomes stable, precise and suitable for high‑performance packaging machines. Ultrasonic sensors ensure reliable presence detection of PET containers and films, independent of transparency or color. Radar sensors, using electromagnetic waves, reliably detect glass bottles even at very high speeds, unaffected by reflections, surface properties or lighting conditions. This combination enables consistent object detection, stable machine operation and reliable downstream processes, improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
