Conditions for Classic products
When a product becomes part of the Classic portfolio, the following gradual price development applies, which becomes valid in March of each year:
1st year:
Transition period with no price change
2nd year:
Special prices and discounts no longer apply
3rd year and after:
Annual price increase
This pricing structure ensures that Classic products can remain available.
Although the new Classic portfolio is here for you, we recommend switching to suitable products from the Standard portfolio as soon as possible. These offer you the latest technology and cost benefits, as well as minimized supply chain risk.

What is a Classic product?
A product from the Classic portfolio differs from a product from the Standard portfolio:
- It is at the end of its life cycle but is not yet being discontinued and remains available to you for longer.
- It is offered at list price level after a 12-month transition period and then is subject to an annual price increase.
- It is subject to longer delivery times if no stock is available.
- There will be no further product development, redesigns or other updates.

How do I find out when products are added to the "Classic" portfolio?
Similar to the announcement of product discontinuations, Balluff provides an annual e-mail to inform you of changes to the Classic portfolio.
There is also a note on receipts and order confirmations of Classic products. All products in the Classic portfolio are marked with the "Classic" label on the website and in the web shop.
You can also use the general search function or the following website to check whether specific products are part of the Classic portfolio and what alternatives are available.

How do I find potential product alternatives?
Alternatives will be displayed on the website and in the web shop, both in the search and on the product detail pages. Find these alternatives by searching for a Classic product.
Customers who have purchased a product in the past five years that will be classified as Classic will receive an e-mail with information on the affected products and alternatives.
Of course, our sales team will also help you to find suitable alternatives.

What limitations apply to Classic products?
Classic products are generally excluded from returns.
For products not in stock
Classic products that are not in stock are first checked for each order and, if possible, confirmed. We will send you the delivery date in the order confirmation and the quantity you ordered will be produced exclusively for you. This results in longer delivery times than for products from the Standard portfolio.
If the check reveals that the desired product can no longer be produced, we will advise you of the best possible alternative, and the Classic product will be discontinued promptly.
For products in stock
The above restrictions do not apply to Classic products when the in-stock quantity is equal to or greater than the quantity in your order. Only the specified conditions apply.
