Monitoring the inclination of material webs in drying and coating processes
Inclination sensors for precise control of tension and material feed
In drying and coating processes for electrode materials in battery production, precise monitoring of the inclination of material webs and machine components is essential to ensure consistent coating quality. The BSI capacitive inclination sensors from Balluff reliably measure the inclination of dancer arms, which control the tension of the electrode foils, as well as of support and conveyor belts, which enable a uniform material feed in coating and drying systems. With a high measuring accuracy of 0.1° and a measuring range of up to 360°, the sensors detect even the smallest inclination deviations. This data is reported directly to the machine control system, which then makes the necessary adjustments to avoid material misalignment or uneven coatings. Thanks to their capacitive, non-contact measuring principle, the sensors are wear-free and are particularly suitable for use in harsh conditions such as dust, moisture and strong vibrations, thanks to their IP67 protection class.
Features
