Tool identification for existing machines - Easy Tool-ID retrofit solution

Equipping modern machining centers with automated tool management is not a question. With older machine tools, this is often doubted and considered too costly and uneconomical. People prefer to accept manually managed tool books, missing tools, premature or delayed maintenance with scrap.

This does not have to be the case, because Balluff offers an inexpensive retrofit solution for automated tool management with Easy Tool-ID. The only prerequisite: the machine needs a USB interface.

The Easy Tool-ID is simply connected to the machine tool via this. At the beginning, the solution is adapted once to the machine control via a web browser. Easy Tool-ID can then automatically transfer the tool data to the machine tool quickly and without errors. The data is now always up-to-date and the tools are used optimally. In this way, automated tool management reduces downtimes and supports continuous operation.
