Forklifts: Checking whether the Seat is Occupied
Inductive sensors from Balluff ensure safety in forklift applications. The motor can only be started if the sensor has detected the presence of the driver. This is accomplished with a sensor attached to the seat frame detects whether there is pressure on the seat to indicate a person is sitting on it. If this is the case, the metal frame of the forklift is detected and the machine can be started.
