Monitor material availability with optoelectronic distance sensors

Distance sensors for precise detection of the amount of material on rolls in the coating process

The BOD optoelectronic distance sensors from Balluff are used to ensure that there is always enough carrier film available in the coating process. These sensors measure the distance to the film roll and precisely detect how much material is still available. The visible laser beam of the sensors enables quick and easy alignment, while the integrated IO-Link interface simplifies parameterization and integration into existing systems. As soon as the amount of material falls below a defined value, the operating personnel are informed so that the coils can be replaced in good time and production interruptions can be avoided.
