Setup Email Notifications with Gmail

1. Setup Internet Access
- Conect LAN2 Port on the CMTK to your router
- Go to the "Netwrok Settings tab and set the LAN2 port as a DHCP client and press save.
- If wired and configured properly, the IP address information should be poplulated and you should be able to use the Ping Server to successfully ping the balluff.com URL.
- You should be able to use the "Ping Server" function to successfully ping balluff.com
2. Setup Two Factor Authentication on Gmail Account
- Log into your Gmail account
- Go to Account Settings
- Go to the "Security" tab
- Turn on 2-Step Verification
- Input "App Passwords" into the search bar and select "App Passwords Security"
- Input a name for the app password and click "Create"
- A password will be generated. This will be used in the CMTK settings as the password.
3. Input Email Credentials
- Input Gmail information
- Select the "Settings" tab
- Select the "Email" tab
- Turn on "SMTP active". Leave the "Skip SSL Verification" off.
- Input the Gmail SMTP Server
- smtp.gmail.com
- Input the Username
- Your Gmail account ([email protected])
- Input the From Address
- Your Gmail account ([email protected])
- Input the Port number
- Input your password.
- This will be the "Generated app password" that was created after turning on two factor authentication in you Gmail account.
- Input the Receiver. You can enter multiple addresses using a ";" seperator
- Some organizations block the notification emails or have a long delay due to screening.
B. Send a Test Email

- Select "Send Test-email"
- If configured properly and the CMTK has access to the internet, you should get confirmation that "The Test email was sent successfully"
- Select "Send Test-email"
