EU Data Act
What is the Data Act?
The Data Act (Regulation (EU) 2023/2854) is an EU regulation that entered into force on 11 January 2024 and has been directly applicable in all EU Member States since 12 September 2025. The regulation governs access to, use of, and sharing of data generated by connected products and related services. Its aim is to give users greater control over their data and to promote innovation and fair competition within the European data economy.
