RFID with the IO-Link communication standard opens up particularly economical and versatile solutions for identification tasks with low data volumes. For this purpose, the IO-Link read/write head communicates with an IO-Link network module, which serves as the evaluation unit and establishes the connection to the controller. Since this IO-Link master has up to 16 ports, additional devices can be easily connected for additional test tasks. RFID with IO-Link is also a suitable choice if data storage is implemented centrally by cloud solutions and the data carrier serves purely as an identifier.
With a broad portfolio of IO-Link read/write heads, RFID systems can be put together to fit exactly. And with the IO-Link master as the evaluation unit, the remaining ports can be occupied by any other sensors and actuators.
