What old Matrix Vision product designations are there and what are the corresponding Balluff type codes?

Contents

Introduction

Since all Matrix Vision products were blue, all Matrix Vision cameras begin with the prefix mvBlue (mv for Matrix Vision and Blue for the blue housing). After the mvBlue comes the product family name, which was used for the connection interface:

  • FOX for USB, more precisely
    • FOX2 for USB 2.0
    • FOX3 for USB 3.0
  • COUGAR for Gigabit Ethernet
  • NAOS for PCI Express

These were also the names that were communicated to the world in terms of marketing and are still familiar to customers and the industry.

Product families in detail

The following table shows which names are still in circulation, what the corresponding Balluff type code is and where details of the different order codes can be found.
