Balluff at the SPS trade fair 2025
SMARTFICIENCY – Where innovation drives performance
Nuremberg – Leading the way in industrial automation, Balluff will unveil its latest innovations at the SPS trade fair in Nuremberg. From November 25 to 27, 2025, visitors can explore pioneering solutions under the motto “SMARTFICIENCY – Where innovation drives performance”. The focus will be on efficiency, reliability, and forward-looking technologies that meet the challenges of the industry and pave the way for smart production.
Three core themes for every stage of automation
For this edition of the SPS, Balluff has designed its showcase in a unique and highly structured way, focusing on three key areas—Smart Entry, Efficiency Boost, and Innovation Edge—each crafted to inspire visitors and address the diverse needs of every customer.
Smart Entry – Reliable performance at a smart price
For those looking for straightforward automation solutions, Balluff brings to market a selection of entry-level products characterized by quality, reliability, and an excellent price-performance ratio.
Three essential offerings you won’t want to miss in this area:
the new BOSR072K optical sensors provide consistent object detection in a compact, robust housing and are ideal for standard applications in intralogistics, assembly, and handling technology.
The portfolio is complemented by the BGL Entry fork light barriers, which are ready for immediate use as a plug-and-play solution. Their solid die-cast zinc housing is also suitable for harsh conditions, and the accurate object detection works independently of color and surface. Finally, the BES Entry Line includes inductive sensors engineered for precise detection of metal objects in routine applications. With their compact, durable design, standardized construction and connections, accurate switching points, and long service life, these sensors are the perfect solution for cost-conscious projects.
Balluff presents the new BOS072K sensor at SPS – an uncomplicated all-rounder that makes applications more efficient and reliable – and at an excellent price.
The new Advanced IO-Link hubs from Balluff in the Black Line and Silver Line offer maximum flexibility for your automation tasks.
Efficiency Boost – Maximize machine uptime, secure growth
When uptime and process optimization are paramount, Balluff delivers solutions to increase efficiency and availability.
The new Advanced IO-Link hubs in the Black Line and Silver Line offer maximum flexibility for multiple automation tasks. With up to 16 digital inputs/outputs or 8 analog signals – available in either a robust plastic or die-cast zinc housing – they are ideally suited for demanding industrial environments. All variants are part of the Smart Automation and Monitoring System (SAMS) and, in addition to process and status data, also provide valuable diagnostic data for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. The intelligent combination of industrial networks with the IO-Link communication standard is an essential building block for the factory of the future.
IO-Link Wireless opens up new possibilities for wireless communication and allows even more flexible integration of sensors and actuators with the proven reliability and performance of the wired IO-Link standard.
The new SmartLight Rigid LED signal tower is the ideal solution for applications where classic signal towers reach their limits. Its compact design (just 20 mm in diameter) and high-quality illumination provide an efficient, cost-effective way to clearly indicate machine statuses.
Lastly, as the final highlight within this key exhibition area, Balluff’s versatile RFID portfolio underscores the company’s expertise in enabling effective and automated traceability. The LF, HF, and UHF systems can be seamlessly combined with IO-Link or powerful BIS V evaluation units. The M30 UHF readers are particularly compact for near-field applications with a reading distance of up to 300 mm and can be used with IO-Link (BIS U-4A7) or BIS V (BIS VU-330). The BIS VU-320 is ideal for longer ranges of up to 1.5 m – making it perfectly suited for applications such as production logistics.
Innovation Edge – Technology that thinks ahead
In the innovation area, Balluff presents its latest advancements driving the future of smart and predictive production.
The RadarImager, an industrial 3D imaging system based on radar, makes the invisible visible, reliably detects foreign objects, and checks packaging for completeness – even in the presence of dust, moisture, and different materials.
The new Balluff radar sensors for object detection and distance measurement impress with their precision, speed, and consistency, even under difficult environmental conditions. They deliver stable measurement results regardless of light, dirt, moisture, or temperature fluctuations. With their long range, precise resolution, and fast response times, they master tasks that other technologies often cannot manage.
Second-generation condition monitoring sensors combine multiple monitoring functions in a single sensor. They provide frequency-selective analysis and intelligent data preprocessing, eliminating the need for additional high-end evaluation units, while their new mounting concept allows space-saving retrofitting with just one screw.
The Condition Monitoring Toolkit (CMTK) relies on machine learning for early anomaly detection and enables easy operation and predictive maintenance.
For demanding industrial imaging tasks, Balluff presents two new camera families. The ultra-compact BVS CA-GW series (40 × 40 mm) is the smallest 25GigE camera on the market, delivering ultra-fast data transfer at over 100 fps with 24.6 MP—perfect for high-speed inspections. Meanwhile, the BVS CA-GV series (29 × 29 mm) combines 5GigE, low power consumption, and optional UV and SWIR sensors, offering flexible solutions for a variety of standard applications.
The BCM Gen 2 condition monitoring sensor has high measuring performance and can be installed with just one screw.
The new industrial cameras with SWIR sensors from Balluff detect object features that are difficult or impossible for the human eye to see.
