Balluff offers a comprehensive portfolio of absolute and incremental encoded magnetic tapes and magnetic rings for precise rotary angle measurement and linear position measurement. While magnetic tapes can be used flexibly for linear applications as well as for rotary measurement tasks with large radii, the magnetic rings are specially designed for absolute rotary measurement. They are primarily used in motors, for example for high-precision position measurement of axes or joints in robotic systems.
The magnetic rings are available in various thicknesses and diameters and can be individually adapted to customer-specific requirements on request. In combination with the appropriate sensors, they enable compact and high-resolution position feedback directly in the motor.
Both measuring elements provide a reliable foundation for precise motion‑control applications across a wide range of industries.
Thanks to their compact design and high integration flexibility, they offer space-saving and high-precision detection of position and speed. In combination with the magnetic encoders from Balluff, they form powerful, durable measuring systems for demanding industrial applications.
