Balluff hosts the packaging industry

Balluff, a sensor and automation specialist, hosted this year's general meeting of Packaging Valley Germany e.V., including approximately 50 participants. The focus: personal dialogue and interesting insights.

Packaging Valley members' meeting: Around 50 participants accepted Balluff's invitation to the event.

The packaging industry cluster brings together more than 100 companies worldwide, including manufacturers of packaging systems, machines and components, providers of software and automation solutions, and public institutions. "Packaging Valley offers us the opportunity to exchange ideas with other experts and market leaders, as well as bundled packaging expertise and international appeal – a real innovation driver for us," said Balluff Managing Director Frank Nonnenmann, who opened the event.

Sabine Gauger-Wahl, chairwoman of Packaging Valley, and Managing Directors Dr. Marc Funk and Martin Buchwitz, provided information on the activities of the past year, as well as projects and goals for 2024, including a joint stand at this year's FACHPACK in Nuremberg. Dr. Rainer Stetter, managing director of member company ITQ GmbH, provided food for thought on education in the age of digitalization. Participants were given the opportunity for personal dialogue at the concluding network meeting.

The focus was on personal dialogue and insights into the innovations and technologies of other member companies.

Making the invisible visible

The aim of the Packaging Valley meetings is to allow participants to benefit from the experience of other members and discover new opportunities for cooperation. In his presentation, "RadarImager – Making the invisible visible," Dr. Matthias Hofherr, technical project manager at Balluff, offered insight into one of Balluff’s new innovations: An industrial 3D imaging system, the RadarImager uses modern radar technology to scan packaging, check it for completeness and intactness, and identify foreign objects. It recognizes hidden objects and makes anomalies visible. Thanks to the new solution, customers benefit from greater transparency in quality assurance and control.

“High demands characterize the packaging industry," emphasized Frank Nonnenmann. "With sensors, system solutions, and intelligent components, we support our customers and enable them to achieve efficiency, accuracy, safety, and the highest quality."
